Products

A license covers one website. How is a website defined?
A website is defined as the domain name, including all top-level domains and paths you might use. Subdomains require a separate license
I already have analytics. Should I run Extellio analytics in parallel?

Yes, keep your current analytics software if you want to. It's no problem to run two in parallel.

If you turn Extellio analytics off, you will lose the option to segment your other data based on analytics events.

I only want to use one or two of the products. Can I turn the other one(s) off?
Yes you can.

License levels/volumes

What are actions and how do I find out how many I have?

An action is recorded every time a visitor:

  • visits or loads a page,
  • performs a search on the website search,
  • clicks on a download or external link.
  • and when an event is tracked.

To calculate the no. of actions from Google Analytics Universal data, take: [the no. of pageviews] + [the no. of events].

To calculate the no. of actions from Google Analytics 4 data, take: [the no. of events]

If you don't have any analytics data but know the number of visits/sessions on your webpage, a general benchmark is 3.5 actions per session, but it varies between websites. To estimate the no. of actions from sessions, take: [the no. of sessions] x 3.5

If you haven't got any idea of the number of actions or sessions and want to be sure before you commit to paying, go with our free version and you'll know.

What are heatmap samples and how many should I choose?

Samples are the pageviews that are captured for a heatmap. 

Many customers capture all pageviews but you don't have to do that. We suggest you pick a level that captures around 70% of your sessions per day. To calculate, take [the no. of sessions per day] x [sample rate]

Session recordings capture full sessions (all pageviews). Please note that the number of session recordings you can have follows from your chosen heatmap sample volume.

What are visits and how do I find out how many I have?

The number of visits (or sessions) to your website where at least one page has been loaded. It's not the same as unique visitors. If you have any type of analytics installed you'll see it there or it should be available in your CMS. Look for "sessions" or "visits".

Please note that a visit/session times out after 30 min. Any visitor staying longer will begin a new session after 30 min.

What happens when we reach the set license level/volume?

If you're on the free plan, Extellio will stop collecting data when you reach the limits of the different plans.

If you're on a paid plan for heatmaps & session recordings, Extellio will stop collecting data when you reach the set level of samples and/or recordings.

If you're on a paid plan for analytics, Extellio will keep collecting data above the set level of actions. You will be charged retroactively for the extra volume at the same price/volume as on your chosen level of actions.

If you're on a paid plan for surveys, Extellio will keep collecting data above the set level of visits. You will be charged retroactively for the extra volume at the same price/volume as on your chosen level of visits.
