Google Analytics becomes GA4, but what does this mean?

As you might have heard Google Analytics is forcing its users to transfer to GA4. 1st of July 2023 Google Analytics Universal will be no more.

Google Analytics is now encouraging their users to transfer to GA4 as soon as possible, so their users will be able to get some historic data. Because you can not transfer any historic data from Google Analytics Universal to GA4.

But, you can choose another, much better alternative that is also compliant with privacy laws - Matomo. This is the platform we use for our web analytics data.
